One question Jesus often asks folks is, “What are you looking for?” If you are looking for a tame, convenient god who will tolerate you and expect little of you, you won’t meet such a God in Jesus Christ nor among St. Paul Lutheran Church. But if you realize that each of us is the good, the bad, and the ugly all rolled into one…and you are looking for the God who loves sinners and calls them to live out his Word … then we invite you to connect with Jesus and the people of St. Paul. As you do, we think you will learn that discipleship means following Jesus…living out His calling of you 24/7…it does not mean just getting your name on a membership roster. Here’s a simple, typical path to connection & discipleship at St. Paul:
Sunday mornings at 9:15am.
Call the church to sign-up for the next class or for more information.
This course focuses on what we believe & teach, on our heritage & history, on prayer, and on opportunities to connect and grow. Please bring your questions, as this is an opportunity for you to learn more about Jesus Christ, the Christian faith, and our congregation! The course is our “New Member” course taught by Pastor Paul Owens and lay leaders.
If you are not yet baptized or not in the habit of worshipping the Lord each week, here’s one thing we know when it comes to change: sometimes folks “think” their way into new behavior…more often they “behave their way into new thinking”. When you follow Jesus, you’ll notice him changing your habits, your head…and your heart.
Jesus saw them following and asked, “What do you want?” They said, “Teacher, where are you staying?” “Come,” he replied, “and you will see.”
- John 1.38-39
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
- Matthew 28.18-20
